Forever Plastic highlights one woman’s journey to live plastic free for one year. Taino Uitto features prominently in this movie and warns viewers of the consequences of continued plastic production and the dangers of this material to our health. Taino provides lots of simple solutions to using alternatives to plastic and offers an education on the subject of plastic packaging. The movie also discusses the ever growing Great Pacific Garbage patch, a seemingly endless vortex of plastic in the Pacific Ocean, whose expanse we all contribute to as consumers of plastic. The film originated as a middle school speech project for a public speaking competition.
